Radon Testing

Radon is an indoor environmental health hazard. It is an odorless, tasteless, invisible cancer causing gas. Indoor levels greater than 4 picocuries per liter of air are especially dangerous. Further, smokers are 15 times more likely to get lung cancer that those who do not smoke that are exposed to radon. Houston & Stewart counties are moderate level counties, meaning there is considerable prevalence of the gas , which comes from limestone rock formations. For more information, or to find out how to test your home, business, school, church, or workplace, call 289-3242 or 232-5682, U. T. Extension Office.

Winter is the best time to test and ventilating and sealing of the affected building is rather inexpensive.
